I found myself quite attracted to this blend, simply for the word "zest" in the title. Something about that word just screams, "I haz a happy!" Poor kitten-like grammar included. The blend contained ginger, spearmint (my favorite mint), fennel and sage. This seemed like a very herbaceous but appetizing combination. Ginger and fennel had very nuanced profiles (if loud), and spearmint and sage were more calming. The yin-yang of it all might work to the blend's benefit.

The fusion certainly worked for the aroma. Spearmint, ginger and sage did something to my nose that made it relax in ecstasy. It was like freebasing Indo-Greek toothpaste.

Brewing instructions verbatim from the SR website: "To retain the aroma & flavor of Sacred Rose® Organic Herbal Teas infuse one teaspoon of your favorite Sacred Rose® Blend into one cup of boiling water for 3-5 minutes." I did exactly that with the heavier-set brewing time.

The liquor brewed up the way a lot of Sacred Rose "teas" did - to a foggy, yellow-green. Explanation? They're herbs, and that - apparently - is herb-color. Moving along. The aroma for this was majestic and calming at the same time. Spearmint took point, then ginger pushed it off the pirate plank. As for the fennel and sage, maybe they'd show up in the taste. And show, they did! Fennel gave the initial tonguedown a nutty/creamy lean, allowing for the refreshing spearmint/sage middle. Ginger spiciness took up the rear. This was positively awesome. I want it as a breath mint.
